The W5900 is the large-format model in the Awnlux full cassette wall-mount range, designed specifically for Class A motorhomes, large travel trailers, and bus-body RVs where the awning width needs to exceed what smaller cassette models can cover. While the W5500 and W5510 cover up to 450cm and 400cm respectively, the W5900 extends to 600cm — matching the full length of a large Class A coach side wall and providing the maximum possible shade area from a single awning system.

The W5900 uses the same full cassette design as the rest of the Awnlux cassette range: an aluminum shell that completely encloses the fabric, roller tube, arms, and mechanism when the awning is retracted. Both manual crank handle and motorized control versions are available. The motorized version includes a built-in crank handle backup port for manual closure if the motor or battery fails while the awning is extended.

The W5900 is particularly suited to buyers who park long-term at campsites, use the awning as a primary outdoor living extension, or operate large coach conversions where the awning width needs to match the full vehicle length. For Class B van conversions or smaller travel trailers, the W5500 or W5510 provide the same cassette design at a more appropriate size and lower cost. For OEM partners, the W5900 is available with custom frame colors, private label branding, and sizing across the full 150–600cm range.

The W5900 frame is constructed from aluminum alloy and is designed to withstand Class 5 wind conditions (Fresh Breeze, approximately 29–38 km/h sustained). We do not recommend leaving the W5900 extended in Class 6 winds (Strong Breeze, 39–49 km/h) or above.

Wind resistance in practice depends on more than just the awning frame. Real-world limits are also affected by:

• The load-bearing capacity of the wall mounting points connecting the awning to the vehicle body
• The movement or rocking of the vehicle in strong wind conditions
• The total wind pressure load across the full fabric surface — especially significant on the W5900 given its large size range

A Class 5 rating describes the structural design limit of the frame. It does not mean the awning is safe to leave deployed in severe weather. This applies to all RV awnings regardless of brand or price — universal guidance is to retract during high winds or when leaving camp unattended.

Q1: What is the difference between W5900, W5500, and W5510?

All three are full cassette wall-mount awnings with the same installation method. W5900 is the large-size model: 150–600cm wide, manual or motorized, designed for Class A motorhomes and large buses. W5500 covers 150–450cm, manual or motorized, suited to Class B, Class C, and small-to-mid-size trailers. W5510 covers 200–400cm, manual only, compact design suited to van conversions and lightweight builds. W5900 is priced higher than W5500, which is higher than W5510.

Q2: What is the difference between W5900 and W5800?

Both share a similar cassette design, the same maximum size (600cm wide, 250cm extension), and the same control options (manual or motorized with crank backup). The difference is installation: W5900 mounts on the flat vertical side wall and is suited to large RVs with usable wall space. W5800 mounts on the roof edge for vehicles where the side wall is curved or obstructed by doors or windows. If your vehicle has a flat, clear side wall, choose W5900.

Q3: Can the motorized W5900 be closed manually if the power fails?

Yes. The motorized version includes a crank handle backup port. If the motor or battery fails while the awning is extended, insert the crank handle and close the awning manually. This is standard on all Awnlux motorized cassette awning models.

Q4: What wind speed should I retract the W5900?

Retract the W5900 when sustained wind reaches Class 6 (approximately 39 km/h or above), or when gusts become unpredictable. The W5900 frame is designed for Class 5 conditions (29–38 km/h sustained). Given the large fabric surface area of the W5900 at full extension, wind pressure loads are proportionally higher than on smaller awnings — retract earlier rather than later when conditions develop.

Q5: Is the W5900 certified for European market sales?

Yes. The W5900 holds EN 13561:2015 certification (Certificate No. M.2026.206.C0134616, issued by UDEM International Certification, valid to February 2031) and CE marking under the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive (Certificate No. M.2026.206.C0134729, valid to February 2031).
