W5810 Roof mount cassette awning
The most common reason buyers choose a roof-mount awning over a wall-mount one is not preference — it is clearance. If your van or RV has large windows that run close to the roofline, a curved or angled side wall, a door that swings too close to where a bracket would sit, or a body shape that simply leaves no flat vertical mounting surface, a wall-mount cassette awning will not fit cleanly. The Awnlux W5810 is built for exactly those situations.
The W5810 mounts on the roof edge of the vehicle, not on the side wall. The bracket sits horizontally on the roof, and the awning opens outward and downward from there. This gives you a full shade surface on the side of the vehicle without needing any wall space at all. It is the standard solution for Sprinter and Transit van conversions with high-roof bodies, for motorhomes with curved fiberglass sides, and for any RV where the window or door layout makes wall mounting impractical.
The W5810 is the compact version of the W5800 roof-mount series. It is lighter, narrower in cassette profile, and manual-only — a deliberate trade-off that makes it more cost-effective and easier to handle on smaller vehicles. The support legs store inside the front bar when retracted, which keeps the cassette profile slim and prevents the legs from snagging during vehicle travel. Internally, the support arm uses a wide cloth strip reinforcement instead of a steel wire, which holds its shape and tension better over years of regular use.
For OEM buyers and van builders, the W5810 is a practical entry point for roof-mount awning supply. It is CE and EN 13561:2015 certified, carries an EU registered design patent, and is available with custom frame colors and OEM branding. It has been supplied to van conversion shops in Europe, Australia, and North America as a standard catalogue item.

Q1: Why would I need a roof-mount awning instead of a wall-mount?
If your van or RV has no flat vertical wall surface where a bracket can sit cleanly, a wall-mount awning simply will not work. The most common situations are: large windows that run close to the roof edge, curved or sloped side panels (common on fiberglass motorhomes), and doors or steps that sit too close to the only available wall space. The W5810 mounts on the roof and bypasses all of these issues. If you have a flat wall with enough clearance, a wall-mount model like the W5510 or W5500 is simpler and costs less.
Q2: What is the difference between the W5810 and W5800?
Both are full cassette roof-mount awnings. W5810 is the compact, lighter, manual-only version — maximum 350cm wide, support legs stored inside the front bar, wide cloth-strip arm reinforcement. W5800 is the standard larger version — up to 600cm wide, motorized option available, support legs behind the front bar, steel wire arm reinforcement. W5810 is more economical and suits smaller vehicles; W5800 is for larger motorhomes or buyers who want motorized control.
Q3: Does the W5810 work on a Sprinter van?
Yes. The W5810 is one of the most commonly fitted awnings for Mercedes Sprinter van conversions, particularly for high-roof builds where the sloped shoulder of the roof body makes wall mounting difficult. Typical width for a Sprinter conversion is 250–350cm. Confirm your roof overhang measurement before ordering to match the correct bracket projection.
Q4: Is the W5810 certified for European markets?
Yes. The W5810 holds EN 13561:2015 certification and CE marking under the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive — both issued by UDEM International Certification and valid until February 2031. These certificates are included in our standard product documentation package for distributors.
Q5: Can I get the W5810 with custom branding?
Yes. OEM custom logo options include laser engraving and metal sticker on the cassette end cap. Custom frame colors beyond standard black and white are available for OEM orders. Contact our team with your required size and annual volume for a detailed OEM proposal.
Q6: What is the lead time for W5810?
Standard lead time is 7–10 working days for orders under 50 sets. For full container orders (approximately 180 sets per 20GP), lead time is around 20 days. First-run OEM orders with custom branding or non-standard colors may require additional time — confirm with our team before committing to your launch schedule.
