Two Popular Methods for Replacing RV Roll-out Manual Awning Fabric
- Replacing the Fabric Without Removing the Roller Tube
- Open your RV awning out, And lock the spring tension on the awning using the spring lock pin. Pull the sail track screws, and the poly cords out of the roller tube to take the old fabric down.
- Remove fabric and brush the loose dirt from the inside of the sail track and roller tube. This will allow you to slip the new fabric in more easily.
- Guide the poly cord through the new fabric eye and thread the cushion into the sail track. ( fyi do not unstitch material now)
- Lift the trailer roll-out awning arms and roller tube to allow fabric to become slack, Press fabric into the roller tube groove (first and second slot) and place the poly cords into the groove.
- Once installed fully, close and then open the trailer manual awning to check if the fabric is flat and to check that the poly cords and the left and right sides of the fabric on the roller tube are matched.
- If it's consistently, close the RV awning and replace the screws to the fabric grip. The fabric replacement is completed.
2. Replacing the Fabric by Removing the Roller Tube
- Find the pin first, please, and dock the spring: disconnect the roller tuber from the arm in tightening screws.
- Unscrew the sail track screws and the retaining strip from the roller tube, slide out the old fabric, and pull the roller tube all the way out
- Clean away any dust from the sail track and roller tube after removing the fabric. This will make it easier to install the new fabric.
- Feed Poly cord through fabric loop and board through NO. 1 grooves of fabric roller.
- Insert the material into the groove of NO. 2 roller, and put a poly cord inside.
- Insert the pull strap into the final channel.
- Turn the material onto the roller tube, and reinstall the roller tube onto the RV roof.
- Figure out the final poly cord and push it into the sail track of the vehicle to hold the material.
- Attach the roller tube to the arms and remove pins from both those sides, then open and close the RV roll-out manual awning to verify the fabric is flat and, to make sure the fabric is evenly aligned with the same amount of distance on either side of the sail track and roller tube. Once in place the material changeout is finished.
