The Awnlux W5250 is a slide-out topper awning designed to protect your RV's slide-out room from debris, dust, and rainwater. When your slide-out extends, it creates a horizontal surface that collects leaves, dirt, and standing water — all of which accelerate wear on the slide's seal and mechanism. The W5250 eliminates that problem.

Constructed from cold-crack tested 16 oz. vinyl fabric and an aluminum frame, the W5250 automatically extends and retracts with your slide-out. No manual operation required after installation. One person can complete the installation. Compatible with most Class A, Class B, Class C, and travel trailer slide-outs on the market.

Available in widths from 150 cm to 500 cm and projection depths from 60 cm to 120 cm. Black and white frame color options. Custom sizing available for OEM orders.

Wind Resistance — Honest Rating Explanation

The W5250 frame is constructed from aluminum alloy and is designed to remain stable in typical outdoor camping conditions. Like all slide-out topper awnings, the W5250 is a passive protection system — it is not rated to an independent wind resistance class because its structural behavior depends on the slide-out mechanism it is mounted to.

What a well-designed slide-out topper should deliver:

• Smooth automatic extension and retraction every time the slide-out moves
• Firm fabric tension that prevents pooling of water on the fabric surface
• Resistance to flutter and vibration in standard camping wind conditions
• Reliable fabric seal at the header bar to prevent water ingress at the slide-out edge

In sustained high wind or storm conditions, retract the slide-out if possible. This also retracts the W5250 topper automatically.

Q1: What is the difference between W5250 and W5280?

Both are slide-out topper awnings with automatic spring extension. The W5280 adds a full cassette housing around the roller tube, which protects the mechanism from dust and road debris during travel. The W5250 is an open-roller design — lighter, simpler, and lower cost.

Q2: What sizes does the W5250 come in?

The W5250 is available in widths from 150 cm to 500 cm, in 50 cm increments (150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 cm). Projection depth is configurable from 60 cm to 120 cm. Custom sizes outside this range are available for OEM orders — contact Awnlux with your slide-out dimensions.

Q3: How do I replace the W5250 fabric?

The fabric is field-replaceable without replacing the full awning frame. Loosen the fabric lock rail screws at both ends of the roller tube, slide the old fabric out of the rail groove, feed the new fabric in from one end, and re-secure the lock rail. Replacement fabric is available directly from Awnlux. Provide your roller tube length and projection depth when ordering.

Q4: Is the W5250 certified for European market sales?

The W5250 frame and fabric are manufactured under the same production standards as the full Awnlux RV awning range, which holds EN 13561:2015 certification (Certificate No. M.2026.206.C0134616, valid to February 2031) and CE marking under the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive (Certificate No. M.2026.206.C0134729, valid to February 2031).Certificate documentation is available upon request.

Q5: Can I upgrade to a solar slide-out topper instead?

Yes. The SA5260 Solar RV Slide Topper uses the same slide-out topper mechanism but integrates a CIGS thin-film solar panel into the fabric surface. This allows the slide-out topper to generate electricity and charge the RV battery while deployed. The SA5260 is available in custom sizes and is covered by the full Awnlux solar certification package (LVD, EMC, RoHS, REACH).
